Top 5 Tips: How To Make Your Laptop Battery Last Longer
Top 5 Tips: How To Make Your Laptop Battery Last Longer
by: Tony Schirmer
Laptops are the pinnacle of mobility computing. When you have power. Battery life in laptops slowly deteriorates over time, because of the way laptop batteries store and use power. No matter if you buy your laptop online, off-line and no matter what sales person tells you otherwise. Even if you left the battery out of your laptop, you might still notice a difference in usage times over a period of years, check Battery University for more information on battery storage. But following a few simple tips can save your battery life. Note: This also works for phone batteries as well.
1. Charge the battery early and often.
Lithium-ion (Li-Ion) batteries will lose charge from age, but recharging it early and often makes sure that the charge is kept throughout the cells.
2. Don't Frequently Discharge and Recharge the battery.
This is called a “Deep Cycle” and should be only be done every 30 – 40 charges to re-calibrate the battery meters in the electronic device.
3. Take out the Battery when using the laptop plugged in for an extended period of time.
Batteries are more affected by heat than any other factor. The heat produced by a laptop is designed to keep it away from the battery, but if you don't need the battery in, it's better to take it out and store it somewhere away form the heat produced by the laptop. Preferably in the fridge or freezer*
4. *The battery should never be frozen.
Although the freezing point of Li-ion batteries is around -40 degrees C, (way below what most conventional freezers), when storing the battery just make sure it'll never reach those sort of extreme temperatures.
5. Never deplete the battery to below their minimum voltage (2.4 – 3.0V per cell)
With these few tips, you should be able to keep your laptop, no matter what brand, continually performing well. Battery life also depends on what operating system, programs and strain your putting on your computer.

Repairing Bad Sector Trouble
First, I want to thank the on the review given to combat the problem on the hard drive bad sector
How do I clear up the bad sector?
Bad sector and the surrounding common tool used to improve the logical bad sector:
1. MHDD (www.hddguru.com) or HDDScan
2. Victoria (http://www.hdd-911.com/index.php?opt...art=0&limit=15)
3. THDD (http://postget.net/?MTczNTM3ODAyMjUz...ExOTU6MA% 3D% 3D)
4. HDDL (http://postget.net/?OTNlZmUwNzY0NzQ3...MTI4MjQ4OjA% 3D)
5. PCHDD (http://postget.net/?YmY4MGVkZmRiOTk0...MTU1NzI2OjA% 3D)
6. HDD Repair Utility (http://postget.net/?YTE3ZDg2YjkwZWRm...zQ2NTQzOjA% 3Dd)
1,2,3 is a standard tool tools (in the sense area is not directly touching the firmware) - All this tool is in the CD 9.0 Hiren behind only version
4,5,6 Tool is a service tools (in the sense the area directly touching the firmware)
What is the firmware area / service area / SA?
SA is part of a special sector on the disk (platter) hard disk that stores configuration information on physical (number of C, H, S = cylinder, Head and Sector). By default, the configuration is a modern HDD
Cylinder = 16383
Head = 16
Sector = 63
This information is recorded in some micro-code program, called modules. One of the modules within this there is information on the damage table SMART (Reallocation Sector Count, Ultra DMA CRC error, Spin Retry count, etc.).
Bad sector soft (logical) is a bad principle that can still be improved by using the tools mentioned above.
Tutorial with MHDD:
MHDD Manual
Explanation of the Code bad MHDD:
[FAQ] All about Hard Disk
To remove the bad code using MHDD sector, we can use the command "erase"
At the prompt MHDD>, type perintan "erase":
MHDD> erase
Start LBA = 0
End LBA = LBA information is adjusted to the maximum you are listed at the top of the MHDD.
To use the USB MHDD box (external drive):
How to use MHDD hardisk exsternal
If you want to cut capacity HDD, you use the PPA:
PPA (Host Protected Area) can only be cut from the LBA start 0 (null) to the last LBA sector before the damage.
So eg we have a 40 GB Maxtor HDD with LBA 80293248 original capacity and have a sector that was damaged in the area after 79000000, then we can memotongnya with the PPA:
MHDD> PPA
Enter new LBA: 69,999,999
That's more or less explanation.
PPA can not be used to cut the HDD with random bad that:
For example HDD as the above example also, but with the sector in the area of damaged 0-10000 ago and continues in the last 1000000-5000000 in 79,000,000 - 80,293,248.
Techniques such as cutting with this condition may only use HRT hardware (HDD Repair Tools) PC 3000 LBA and other editors.
.................................................. .................................................. ....
Photos below are examples of bad fisk (scratch) that occur in some type HDD
Fujitsu MHT
This is indeed a bad sector (physical)
IBM AVVA platter damage ...
Damage such as this clearly will not be. Interestingly, some will still detek HDD in BIOS, but at the time of scanning to reach the area of the scratch, MHDD and other software will freeze or at least remove the code (!) Continuously.
In some other type HDD accoustic will hear the sound of the HDD (eg on Maxtor Calypso 6Y080L0 with a 2-3 head). This noise comes from the head can not find the service area and eventually send the signal and the noise of a specific melody.

[FAQ]
[Q] Differences between the Quick erase erase?
[A] Fast erase / Quick erase using ATA Security module (so check the HDD with the concept of the internal firmware and perform erase in Service Area - SelfScan similar procedure). To make the process fast erase, the user password is required.
How:
MHDD> pwd
MHDD ATA Security Password, this will lock the HDD with user or master password
User Password (0) or a Master Password (1)
Please choose:
Fill selection with the number 0 (user password)
then type the password you want for example A
Please choose: 0
Enter user password: A
Press enter
ATA drives locked with a password.
MHDD> fasterase
Enter user (0) or master (1) password: 0
Enter password: A
Fast erase started, wait until Busy Flag fails.
Now MHDD Fast erase will do to our HDD. If you have completed the symbol "BSY" at the busy corner on the right stops.
If you have finished making Fast erase, we can not do anything to the HDD, the user password to open unless we have pairs.
MHDD> DISPWD
Enter user (0) or master (1) password: 0
Enter password: A
Enter again
Done
After in-disable password, the HDD can be in the f-disk and formatted.

Tutorial with MHDD:
- First, boot your PC (without HDD) to change the HDD in the BIOS settings. In the sense HDD problem I do not didetek in BIOS (IDE detection set to "None" in the BIOS) 2. HDD problem that must be installed on the PC as the Primary Master. Boot your PC with MHDD. Select the HDD that appear at the start MHDD.
- ERROR HAPPENS IF AND WHEN BOOT MHDD is not loading: shutdown your PC again, loose power cable and the HDD I boot problems again. After a successful boot, install your HDD power cable.
- Press Shift + F2 to re-initiate your HDD you problems. Model and the firmware will appear in the MHDD.
- MHDD Once you identify the type HDD with the right, press F4 key twice to start analyzing the HDD sector page.
- If the scanning process is interrupted by the bad information sector with the UNC, AMNF or other, you can go through the area by pressing the arrow keys right (->).
- The bad sector information on a particular area will be recorded by MHDD on file mhdd.log
- If you want to start this repair HDD, spare time I prepare a very long time. I recommend starting this process at night when sleeping, so will not disrupt the activities.
